Should I stay or should I go?
Let’s take a look at some of the reasons where the way you present your products has an impact on staying or going
- 2 out of 3 consumers will leave an online shop if not enough relevant product datais given.
- Impersonal content. Make a difference on your webshop – if you’re a multi-brand retailer, don’t ‘just’ use the images you receive from the different brands, make them coherent and/or make your own. Be the stylist / be the curator / make it yours.
- Slow loading times (aka heavy images) make people leave in seconds. High res images are beautiful but are way too heavy for a webshop. 72dpi and 1080 x 1080 is more than enough.
- Too many pictures. Yes – we are visually driven. No – we don’t need a cacophony of images in all shapes and sizes hurled at us on a webshop. In terms of webshops, we advise consistency and calmness. Use fewer but larger pictures, think of canvas sizes and sizing grids and discuss these topics when (re)designing your webshop.
- Mobile. More and more customers shop on their mobile devices – make your webshop mobile-friendly!
There are obviously lots of other reasons people bounce from a site — but if you already optimise for the factors mentioned above, you’ll notice a serious boost in your conversion rate!
